A New Independence

My friends, brothers and sisters (for so I count us all, the sons and daughters of liberty), we stand now on a precipice and must decide for ourselves once again whether we shall continue in the tradition of freedom in which we have reveled for over two hundred years, or at last succumb to the avaricious and venal ministrations of domination.

That we have shown patience and forbearance for so long is to our credit, but to further subject ourselves to the malicious will of tyrants, no matter by what name they call themselves, nor to which ideology they claim to swear allegiance, is to forswear two hundred years of service to the cause of liberty and a discredit to the innumerable men and women who have laid down their lives in that service.

And so I call out, as our founders did in Philadelphia so long ago, for a new Independence and a New Revolution. No arms will be taken up, and no blood shall be shed. We shall attack our enemies with the power of our words, and we shall strike them down within the bounds set forth by The Constitution, just as they try to steal our liberty by those same avenues.

Let all good men and women, of pure heart and noble intent, rally to the call and raise their voices for those who stand steadfast for the cause of Liberty. Have no doubt that the issues we now face are monumental, and that the consequences of our choices shall echo down the generations.

Let it not be said in the years to come that when given the choice, America forswore freedom at the last and surrendered to oppression, but instead chose to remain the last great bastion of liberty, and a shining example of all that is possible in a government by, of and for the people.
